3. Cookies
3.1. What is a cookie? Cookies are small text files that enable the recognition and analysis of a user’s usage of our website. On our website, we use cookies to make it more user-friendly and to deliver personalized content to you as a user. Some cookies are necessary for the use of our website.
3.2. Why does Yuzzon use cookies? We use cookies to provide you with relevant information when you visit our website or use our services.
Furthermore, we use cookies to simplify and improve our services, as well as to measure website traffic and create statistics.
Additionally, we may also use third-party cookies to measure and analyze website traffic and to utilize browsing behavior on our web pages for marketing purposes or to improve the functionality of our services.
3.3. Types of cookies There are different types of cookies that can be classified in various ways.
3.3.1. Based on expiration (validity) a. Transient cookies (session cookies) – These cookies only contain data from your current visit. When you end your browsing session by closing all browser windows or turning off your device, these session-based cookies are automatically deleted from your device.
b. Persistent cookies – These cookies are automatically deleted after a predetermined duration, which may vary depending on the cookie. You can delete cookies at any time through your browser settings (see “Managing cookies via web browser”).
3.3.2. Based on the cookie’s creator a. First-party cookies – These cookies are set directly by Yuzzon itself. They enable the website to function properly and provide you, as a user, with the best possible experience.
b. Third-party cookies – These cookies are not set by Yuzzon but by another provider. The third-party provider, usually an advertiser, can track a user’s visits across all pages where the third-party’s ads are displayed, including Yuzzon’s pages. The currently visited website has no control over these third-party cookies or their behavior, which can change depending on the advertising campaign. Some browsers allow you to block cookies from third-party providers selectively. Additionally, we use third-party cookies to measure and analyze website traffic, understand browsing behavior, create target audiences for marketing purposes, simplify ad management, and improve the functionality of our web pages and services.
3.3.3. Based on purpose of use a. Functionality cookies – These cookies are necessary for fully utilizing our products and their functionalities. For example, they may save your input in form fields (so you don’t have to fill them out multiple times), remember your geographical location, or store user preferences. The information collected by functionality cookies is specific to the visited website and does not gather information about browsing on other websites. Rejecting these cookies may result in reduced functionality.
b. Performance or web analytics cookies – These cookies collect anonymized information about the usage habits of visitors to a website or app, without personally identifying individual users. Such information may include the most active access times or the most frequently visited (sub)pages. This information is aggregated and analyzed using performance or web analytics tools to gain insights into the usage, functionality, and user-friendliness of websites or apps, in order to continuously improve them.
Therefore, these cookies are essential for improving the quality of our products. Additionally, such cookies are used to analyze the number of visits or page views and other indicators of website or app performance, including specific content (e.g., advertisements).
c. Marketing/advertising – These cookies are used to infer users’ interests and needs based on an analysis of their browsing behavior. This allows for segmenting users with similar interests and needs (target audiences). Subsequently, advertising can be targeted specifically to users associated with a particular target audience (targeting). This is mostly done using tools provided by specialized service providers (e.g., ad servers for online ad placement; data management platforms for user data management).
Furthermore, these cookies are used to control the frequency of ad displays (particularly to limit them) and measure the effectiveness and efficiency of campaigns. Third-party cookies may also be used through advertising networks, which utilize them in connection with their services. Such cookies determine whether the user has visited a website and transmit this information to the third-party provider, where it can be linked with functionalities provided by other organizations. Additionally, specific targeting cookies enable the delivery of advertisements to users of social networks.
d. Social media cookies – Yuzzon incorporates social media plug-ins on its pages to allow for recommending and sharing ads on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. For this purpose, we use a two-step process. Data is only transferred to third parties when you, as a user, click on one of the icons displayed in the social media toolbar. Yuzzon has no control over cookies set by Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc., nor does Yuzzon have access to them.
3.4. Managing Cookies through Web Browsers: You can choose whether to accept cookies or not through the settings in your browser. In general, you can specify whether you accept cookies from the websites you visit and from third parties affiliated with those websites, and whether you want to be notified each time a new cookie is stored.
The exact process depends on your device and the browser you are using. If you do not want cookies to be stored on your computer, you can prevent this by changing the settings in your browser. There are also special services that you can install as browser plug-ins to manage or block cookies.
Please note: The services provided by Yuzzon are largely free of charge. This is also based on financing through advertising revenue. If you block ads on Yuzzon, it becomes more difficult for us to provide the free services in the long run.
Please note: If you disable local storage of cookies from Yuzzon, it may, for example, cause our website and services to not function as intended. You may also need to log in again each time.
Despite implementing legally compliant technical and organizational measures, it may not always be possible to communicate a revocation to the providers of the cookies before further processing.
You can find information on how to manage cookies in various browsers here:
